About me
My name is Lidia and I’m from Madrid, Spain. I’m a social worker and I used to work in emergency services. After many years of doing crisis intervention and dealing with emergencies, I decided to change my career but not my goal. My goal has remained the same; to be part of a journey of empowerment and to help others to reach their full potential, and I believe there is nothing more empowering than learning a new language.
I decided to learn English after a three month trip to India. I went there with two friends and I felt like a burden because they had to translate everything for me and I couldn’t do anything without them. I realized then, that without languages I would always depend on someone else, so I moved to the UK to study English and lived there for 4 years. I also speak Italian.
For me, language means freedom, access to information that you wouldn’t have otherwise, the ability to connect with people on a deeper level, to travel, to explore the world and to experience a whole new self.
I am a fully certified teacher through the “Instituto Cervantes”, with several years of experience teaching Spanish online. As I said before, I have been a student of languages myself and I wasted a lot of my precious time studying tons of grammar without being able to have a conversation where I didn’t feel stupid. So, I have decided to be the teacher I would love to have had when I was studying. This means a strong focus on conversation and building confidence while creating a foundation of grammar. I specialise in teaching beginners, so don’t worry, you are in good hands.
If you can relate to my story I suggest that you get in touch with me. Likeminded people can do wonderful things when they work together.
