Learning a new language

Learning a new language

Learning a language can be a frustrating and daunting experience. Believe me, I’ve experienced it myself as a student of English and Italian. It’s a lifelong commitment and sometimes it’s not easy to see the results. I can’t teach you Spanish in 3 months, nor will I sell you the idea that by learning the 100 most common verbs you will be able to express yourself. I’m sorry, this is not how it works.

Learning a language is not just about grammar or vocabulary, it’s about expanding your mind, training your brain to think in a new way and use new structures. This is an adventure my friend. And like every adventure, there will be a lot of fun and a lot of hard work.

Languages are not isolated things, rather they are part of something bigger. They shape the way we think and they carry stories within themselves.

I will try to awaken your desire to learn, but also to experience the Spanish culture. I’m not talking about the stereotypes. Spanish culture is much more than siesta and paella. We have a super interesting history, very talented artists, super creative swear words and much more.

I believe that the best way to learn a language is to learn in context and incorporate it through practice. My style is based on the communicative approach.

I will provide you with materials that I design myself and different resources .You will study at your own pace and you will learn how to incorporate grammar and vocabulary in context and strengthen your skills through conversation.

You will be surprised at how quickly you start speaking, and your confidence will improve greatly. More importantly, you will love what you are doing.

Let’s let the adventure begin!
